Sunflower seed oil

The Grapoila Organic Sunflower Seed Oil has won the 2-star award at the Great Taste in 2019 and in 2020 as well (The Great Taste Award is the most famous food tasting contest in the world based on blind testing).

This oil has a yellow colour and a scent reminiscent of roasted sunflower seeds. It is one of the best-known and most used oils in Hungary, in a cold pressed version. 

This bright yellow plant, which blooms in the fields with its flowers nodding towards the sun, is a summer favourite. In traditional medicine, sunflower seed is also used for treating persistent sores and dry, scaly skin.  Due to its high vitamin E content, it has a beneficial effect on strengthening cell walls and preserving healthy skin, healthy nerves, muscles, red blood cells and healthy heart function.

It can be used for frying and cooking as well, but at a lower temperature and for a shorter time only. Ideal for traditional Hungarian dishes, salads, cold dishes or for mayonnaise with a distinctive taste.
